Indo Japan (IJ) is a family-owned business that is firmly established as the largest manufacturer of LEDs in South Asia and is now bringing our technical expertise and world-class products to the UK. Our aim is to establish a manufacturing base here by 2026.

We work with all the prime manufacturers of LED lights in India and overseas, supplying them with technology and LEDs.

Our head office and manufacturing base is in Kolkata, with regional sales offices in New Delhi (North), Mumbai (East) and Chennai (South). We provide customers with competitively priced products within four main categories: LED lighting, LED packaged devices, switch mode power supplies and semi-conductor components.

Key to our success is an ongoing investment in new products, our knowledge of the marketplace and service delivery. Indo Japan has a strong presence in Singapore and Shenzhen, China; and is looking to expand operations into other key overseas markets.

Our customer base includes such prestigious names as Philips, and Indian heavyweights Havells, Crompton Greaves and Delta.

At the heart of the company ethos is providing the end-customer with well-made electrical products that are ‘fit-for-purpose’ and reliable. This is achieved by applying strict quality control inspections at the manufacturing stage and delivering quality products on schedule.

Vision

Whilst the UK market for LED lighting and electrical products is highly competitive, our research shows that there is room for a new player in the sector that can provide a core range of LED and electrical products that offer quality at a fair price point.

We believe our ethical approach to business, coupled with excellent products, will enable us to quickly establish a firm foothold and reach a target turnover of £5m by 2026.

History

Indo Japan Horological PVT. Ltd was founded in 1994 to produce quartz movements for wrist watches, with support from the Citizen Watch Company of Japan. The next stage in the company development was to diversify and invest into real estate, leasing commercial properties within prime locations.

Looking for further investment opportunities led to our next commercial venture – creating India’s first LED chip manufacturing company in 2016. Initially producing sector low and high-power LED’s, we introduced LED lights and switch mode power supplies to our product range the following year.

The Indo Japan Group is a family run business that continues to invest and diversify into new sectors. The management team is led by CEO Mayur Bothra, Director Jaya Bothra and CFO Ankita Bothra.
